The 2011 APEC Young Entrepreneurs’ Summit is intended to develop and nurture entrepreneurship and promote the development of new business establishment in APEC economies. It will also identify pertinent issues that need to be addressed to create the enabling environment for developing potential entrepreneurs and SMEs in APEC economies.

The Summit will be held over a three day period and will commence with a key note address and panel discussion on the Summit theme “Unlocking Economic Value through Innovation”. This will be followed by a seminar involving plenary session and panel discussion on “Developing Business Value Propositions through Innovation for Young Entrepreneurs”. The Summit will conclude with a One-on-One business matching session among entrepreneurs from APEC economies. Throughout the Summit, a Business Showcase will be held concurrently to give entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their products and services as well as the opportunity to interact with exhibitors and potential business partners in areas of mutual interest.

The Summit will also focus on specific themes and sub-themes to support APEC  priorities and broader work programmes under the Growth Strategy and Regional Economic Integration. The theme and sub-themes of the Summit are also selected based on the APEC SME Working Group Strategic Plan 2009-2012 Priorities and Actions:


•    Business Environment;
•    Building Management Capability and Promoting Entrepreneurship;
•    Market Access and Internationalisation;
•    Innovation;
•    Financing; and
•    Raise awareness of Sustainable Business Practices.
